As the slew of new fantasy MMORPG's continues to rain down open the internet, and I admit I fall victim to their free-to-play counterparts every so often, a new one comes out now and then that perks my interest. The first blog round was with Runes of Magic, which I still play sparingly. Since then, I've tried Gates of Andaron and Ether Saga Online for a bit each- neither was too great. This month's model, however, is Alganon, which has been advertised on our home page for some time by the Curse...

So last year I ran a contest among all of us to pick out the favorite member of the entire userbase from the preceding year, 2008. The contest was launched in late 2008 with nominations given here (now closed, obviously) and the actual poll here, which was composed of the users that won nomination spots from the nomination thread. For the coming competition for the favorite member of 2009, I decided to do some more planning ahead of time to avoid some sticky situations about rules for participation...

Eventually, they reached the bottom. By the time they came near it the slope had become angled so that they could carefully walk down it. In moments Arthin found himself following DeAhn around, behind, and over rocks, boulders, dried-out stumps, husks of bushes, and all other manner of random left-overs of nature.

Arthin briefly considered what his parents would think of his current predicament, and then had the strangest feeling that he had forgotten something, but quickly abandoned...

It was not long after the attack that Arthin Fal found himself trailing the Lyjstari DeAhn back up the river to where the water was shallower and the distance across bottlenecked. The night was steadily growing darker and colder as they went, stars winking in to view as a layer of wispy clouds passed by, a great moon heralding the coming of deepest nighttime. While they traveled to the point where they would cross, DeAhn explained his change of heart and mind.

Well, it's been some time since I've had the time to update my writing blog. Regardless, I figured I'd post again for an update to anyone that might be following it. My last entry, Darkened, was a little bit of work on my part- I had to strain out a lot of things and minimalize others so that I could finish them in the window of a single chapter. The coming chapter, The Sealed Tomb, should not have that issue.
